Construction Update: The Grounds

Carter and Front Street Capital - in partnership with Wake Forest University and the City of Winston-Salem - started construction on The Grounds in December 2024.

UNDER CONSTRUCTION - Winston-Salem, North Carolina

Carter and local partner Front Street Capital are developing The Grounds, a 100-acre mixed-use development consisting of a 42,000 SF pedestrian-friendly retail village, for-sale condominiums, 229 unit modern residential living, 127,000 SF class-A office building anchored by Wake Forest University, and enhanced infrastructure including walking paths, new roads, and utilities, throughout the entire site. Located in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, the $200+ MM first phase is under construction. Nelson is the architect and Brasfield & Gorrie is the general contractor. Stimmel Associates and McAdams are providing Civil Engineering.
