Commitment to Our Community

Throughout Carter's 65-year history, our company and associates have dedicated time and resources to serving non-profits and community organizations in Atlanta and beyond. Through hands-on partnerships, pro bono project management, neighborhood engagement, board service, and more, Carter fosters a culture of care and commitment to service.

Direct Impact

  • Atlanta Police Foundation

Carter is pleased to provide multiple levels of service to an organization tasked with crime reduction and prevention. From project managing APF’s flagship initiative of building At-Promise Youth Centers for Atlanta’s youth to having Carter employees serve on the Atlanta Police Foundation’s Board, Carter looks forward to continuing this longstanding partnership for years to come.

  • At-Promise Centers

At-Promise Youth and Community Centers in Atlanta are state-of-the-art learning and community facilities with specialized services for youth and a gathering place for residents, group activities and other purposes. The first At-Promise Center is the cornerstone of the Atlanta Police Foundation’s youth crime reduction initiative. The success of the first project prompted the Police Foundation to work with Carter on three more At-Promise centers: one in the Pittsburgh neighborhood (opened in Spring 2021), one at the Andrew Young YMCA on Campbellton Road (opened in Spring 2022), and a fourth center on MLK Jr. Drive scheduled to be delivered in 2024.

  • Atlanta Fire Rescue Foundation

Carter is proud to support the Atlanta Fire Rescue Foundation through the Fire Station Fund Program (formerly known as "Adopt a Station"), having adopted Atlanta Fire Rescue Department stations 10 and 26. We take our obligation to "be the first responders for our city's first responders" seriously, helping ensure Atlanta's bravest men and women have a comfortable, quality environment in which to live, work, and serve Atlantans.

  • Organized Neighbors of Summerhill

Carter has attended monthly Organized Neighbors of Summerhill meetings since 2014 providing project updates and partnering with the neighborhood on pursuing grant opportunities. To date, Carter has secured more than $500,000 worth of grant funding to make meaningful improvements for neighborhood residents. An Atlanta Park Pride Legacy Grant funded improvements to Phoenix Park II and III and Heritage Park, and a Stadium Neighborhoods Community Trust Fund grant enabled Summerhill to install Atlanta Police Department-connected security infrastructure throughout the neighborhood.

  • HouseProud Atlanta

HouseProud’s mission is to provide no-cost home repairs to low-income senior, veteran, and disabled homeowners to keep them warm, safe, and dry while partnering with community organizations to help them remain connected in their neighborhoods. Carter has served as a Foundation Sponsor of HouseProud since 2021, supporting HouseProud clients in the Summerhill and Adair Park neighborhoods and beyond.

  • YMCA of Metro Atlanta

Carter enjoys a close relationship with the YMCA of Metro Atlanta, which serves over 153,000 members. Carter involvement has included project management services for a new YMCA Leadership and Learning Center, along with assisting the organization in strategic growth planning across the region.
