University of Louisiana Lafayette Athletics Performance Center
Carter assisted UL in raising the bar for Sun Belt facilities with a new athletics performance center for the Ragin’ Cajuns.
UL has experienced widespread athletic success over the past three years. During the 2013-14 school year, the football team played in and won a third consecutive conference bowl game, the men’s basketball team advanced to the NCAA Tournament, the softball team played in the Women’s College World Series, and the baseball team competed in the NCAA Super Regionals.
With Ragin’ Cajun athletics on the rise, the need to attract and develop superior student athletes is a priority at UL. In support, Carter served as program/project manager for a new athletics performance facility, which is part of the Tier 1 Athletic Master Plan for the university. The new center totals 89,000 square feet with new locker rooms, coaches’ offices and meeting rooms, a 150-seat team auditorium, a sports medicine area and a hydro therapy area. The new facility also includes an 11,000-square-foot state-of-the-art weight training facility.
