The University of Georgia Athletic Association identified the need to expand its women’s softball facilities and selected Carter as program manager for the expansion, which comprised construction of a new softball stadium. Constructed of galvanized steel, the new 1,300-seat softball stadium features prefabricated aluminum roof and seats. Located underneath the seating structure are buildings containing offices for softball coaches and trainers, team locker rooms and an officials locker room, a training and physical therapy center, and a video assessment training room. The project is located within 20 feet of the university’s soccer complex, which was renovated at the same time the stadium was constructed. Carter managed both projects and helped phase construction activities to maintain team practice and games, and to minimize disruption to operations and students.
