Georgia Tech Baseball
As a contender in the ACC and NCAA championship races, Georgia Tech recognized the need to upgrade its existing Russ Chandler baseball facility. Due to campus land limitations, the new facility had to be constructed between seasons on the site of the existing stadium. Carter was selected to provide program management services for the design and construction of the new $9.7 million baseball stadium. Construction commenced in June of 2001, and the stadium was completed for occupancy just six months later. The project met the schedule requirement and was delivered on budget. Team facilities include three indoor batting/pitching tunnels, weight-training facilities, a fully equipped training room, locker room and showers, players’ lounge, coach’s office, and laundry and storage facilities. Other stadium amenities include visitor and umpire locker rooms, concession stands and a novelty store, picnic and gathering plazas, TV, radio and press suites, and facilities to support multiple TV broadcast production and uplink requirements.
