ATLANTA (May 3, 2011) The Institute of Real Estate Management, IREM, recently recognized Alabama Chapter 43, one of 93 IREM chapters worldwide, as a five star chapter. Janice A. Johns, general manager for Carter’s Property & Facility Management group in Birmingham, Ala., is the chapter’s president. Carter would like to congratulate Janice on helping the chapter receive the highest honors in IREM’s Chapter Star Recognition Program. The Star Recognition Program recognizes chapters providing valuable member services and programs. Serving the State of Alabama with 199 members, Chapter 43 was recognized for a variety of initiatives it undertook in 2010, including:
- Sponsoring a fundraiser for the Make-A-Wish foundation.
- Supporting the Wallace Boothby Educational Foundation.
- Participating in a workday for Habitat for Humanity.
- Serving as co-sponsor for Alabama Commercial Real Estate Conference.
- Providing leadership training in support of chapter and industry-wide goals.
