ATLANTA (Oct. 7, 2011) – If you ever wanted to tour the inside of The Medici Office Building, last night was a perfect opportunity. Piedmont Office Realty Trust hosted an open house to showcase the six-story Class A Property. Brokers and executives from Atlanta’s top commercial real estate firms, including Carter, came out to tour the plush office space and enjoy some cocktails and hors d’oeuvres catered by Local Three on the outdoor patio of the building. Carter sourced the acquisition on behalf of Piedmont back in June.
Located at 3284 Northside Parkway NW, the building was constructed in 2008 as part of the Piazza at Paces mixed-use high-end office and residential development. Silverton Bank was the build-to-suit tenant for the office, but when federal regulators seized the bank in May 2009, it was difficult to find another anchor tenant for the building.
Piedmont purchased the 156,200 square-foot office building for approximately $13.2 million at a Fulton County foreclosure auction. Since taking ownership in June, Piedmont has signed two long-term leases totaling 23,436 square feet.
