Carter was engaged by Whitefield Academy to evaluate the purchase of a 55-acre site for the school’s new campus. Whitefield then contracted with Carter to develop the new campus, select the architect, and manage development of the new site.
The first phase of the $13.8 million project included construction of the football and track and field stadium, a 31,000-square-foot gymnasium, a baseball field, a softball field, associated practice fields and parking, and 27,000 square feet of classroom space. Phase II construction included the 45,000-square-foot first permanent classroom building, music and laboratory facilities, and a bookstore. Costing $7 million, the second phase was completed a year later. The Carter team was successful in turning both Phase I and II projects over on time and within budget.
