University of West Georgia Health and Wellness
With exponential student growth, The University of West Georgia broke ground on the Health & Wellness Center, future home of the UWG Wolves basketball and volleyball teams. The Center is also used for student activities such as graduation, programs, and concerts. The facility was designed with two major components connected by a two-story glass atrium. The largest component includes a 7,000 seat capacity arena which can be converted to five practice basketball or volleyball courts. The second component accommodates academic offices and classrooms. A state-of-the art human performance lab, weight training, aerobics and a 75-person tiered classroom serves UWG students in this part of the building. Carter maintained the construction timeframe and project budget of $30.5 million.
