University of Louisiana Lafayette Baseball Complex
The University of Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajuns have been riding a wave of athletic success over recent years. The baseball team in particular has been very successful in NCAA post season play and has enjoyed top 10 rankings on a consistent basis. The UL fan base has been loyal and enthusiastic to their team for many years. In fact, entire seasons have been sold out in advance. In response, the University and their associated foundation embarked on improvements to this important athletic venue. Carter served as program manager for the addition and renovation of the M.L. “Tigue” Moore Field Baseball Stadium. The complex includes 47,000 sf of upgraded seating, press box and broadcast facilities, box suites, restrooms, concessions, and new lighting.
The project consisted of two phases performed between the 2015 and 2017 baseball seasons. Phase I, completed in time for the 2016 season, included the addition of entirely new lighting systems to accommodate television broadcast requirements. Phase II, started at the conclusion of the 2016 season, included demo and construction of the main grandstand incorporating the aforementioned program elements and new exterior treatment with upper level fan decks along the 1st and 3rd base lines. The complex was opened in time for the 2017 season.
