UGA Terry College of Business
Carter’s long-standing relationship with the University of Georgia started when a fire severely damaged historic Brooks Hall, which housed the administrative, and faculty offices and support functions for the Terry College of Business. Carter was selected to assist in the rapid renovation to preserve the building while also allowing students and faculty to resume working as quickly as possible. Not only did Carter manage the design and construction phases of the Brooks Hall renovation project, but also, the team negotiated the insurance settlement on behalf of the State of Georgia. Within six weeks, Carter had completed reconstruction of the Annex in time for the commencement of the fall term. Carter successfully increased the usable square footage by 15,000 square feet and installed state-of-the-art data and A/V technology in each classroom and office. The project was completed on time and within the $10.3 million budget and the insurance settlement amount.
