UGA Sanford Stadium
The University of Georgia Athletic Association, recognizing the need to update and expand the 72 year old Sanford Stadium, selected Carter to manage the design and construction of the Sanford Phase I master plan. The scope of Phase I consisted of expanded ticketing and entrance gates, plazas, queuing and gathering areas, new restroom facilities, and new concession and novelty areas. More importantly, the first phase included new loading docks, elevators, and the structure and access for future phases of the club level and upper level finish build-out. Carter led the Athletic Association in selecting a contractor that could meet the schedule requirements. The team also managed the design effort through numerous design packages and pricing efforts, so that construction could start the day after the last home game. The project was completed on schedule and within the original budget and the stadium was ready for opening day.
