Rabun Gap Library
Rabun Gap, GA
The Rabun-Gap Nacoochee School spent 11 months developing a strategic plan for campus improvements in preparation for the school’s centennial anniversary in 2003. Carter was selected as the program manager and immediately began implementing the school’s comprehensive $22 million improvements program, which included extensive renovation and expansion of the library.
The new library enhances accessibility and substantially increases the facility’s square footage from 2,600 to 10,616. A state-of-the-art computer lab for student research and teacher training was added, along with an expanded media storage area and a number of small project rooms. Exterior improvements included the addition of a heavily landscaped student plaza with outdoor seating at the library entrance. Completed in just 10 months, the library was constructed on time and within budget.
