Lovett Lower School
The Lovett School decided to replace its existing Lower School with a new building that would provide a modern facility and additional program space. Lovett selected Carter to manage the design and construction process for the new 105,000-square-foot building. Carter guided the School in implementing a plan for temporary space for the Lower School, and development of a new Physical Plant.
The new Lower School program includes classrooms, a library, art, music and science rooms, administrative space, and a full gymnasium among other features. The mechanical equipment was installed with additional capacity to serve both the Lower School and future Middle School, in order to save equipment and energy costs in the long term. The project was completed under budget and on schedule.
