Holy Spirit Preparatory School
The board and president of Holy Spirit Preparatory School retained Carter to develop a new upper-school campus. The school had acquired land and a 40-year-old building, and was in urgent need of the new campus in order to meet the school’s growth requirements. The challenge for the project team was to design and build an entire new high school in time for the 2004 academic year, while adhering to work-hour restrictions imposed by the City of Atlanta. Due to the extremely short time allotted for design and construction, Carter managed a multi-package permit process and worked with the City of Atlanta to expedite the development, site and building permits needed, as parts of the construction were fast-tracked to get the campus built.
Carter also managed the FF&E selection and procurement process for outfitting an entire new school. The school, which consists of classrooms, administration offices, a two-story library, gymnasium, cafeteria, music practice rooms, gained a certificate of occupancy and was completed on time and under budget.
