Georgia Tech Football
A need to update the nation’s oldest Division 1 on-campus football stadium led to the Georgia Tech Athletic Association’s decision to renovate and expand Bobby Dodd Stadium. For the project, Carter served as program manager at-risk in a joint venture with Turner Construction. Through the joint venture, cost and schedule were guaranteed and full design and construction services were provided. The project included 36 new suites; 2,100 club-level seats and a club lounge; a new Letterwinner’s Lounge; a new coaches office suite; a new team locker room, lounge, and equipment and storage areas; and an increase in seating capacity from 42,000 to 55,000. In the process of delivering the scope and net increase in seating, 16,000 existing seats were demolished, with a total of 29,000 new seats being constructed. The entire project was completed on time between football seasons, and on budget.
