Georgia State Library
In an effort to transform Georgia State University from less of a commuter campus to more of a traditional campus, the university decided to completely renovate its main library. The project was a $23 million renovation of two library buildings totaling 182,000 square feet of space. GSU engaged Carter to serve as the program manager/owner’s representative to oversee the entire renovation.
The renovations of the library added collaborative work spaces, multiple study rooms and carrels designed for collaborative work. New technology updates were also a part of the library renovations. Carter also oversaw renovations to the bridges that connect the two library buildings from the top three floors.
