At-Promise Youth and Community Center
Carter and Atlanta Police Foundation team up on At-Promise Youth and Community Center located in historic English Avenue.
Carter has partnered with the Atlanta Police Foundation and The Atlanta Police Department to serve as project manager for the At-Promise Youth and Community Center. Located on the westside of Atlanta, the center will work to empower youth to realize their full potential and reduce the number of young people who experience the criminal justice system.
The Atlanta Police Foundation is investing $5 million into the project and once finished, the 17,000 square foot facility will be transformed into a state-of-the-art space with specialized services for youth and residents of the community.
The 6-month renovation project is being completed pro bono by Carter as the project manager, Brasfield & Gorrie as the general contractor, and RJTR as the architect. The center is expected to serve up to 150 youth in the first year.
“The goal for this center is to provide alternatives to arrest and probation, while promoting personal growth and development in youth,” says Atlanta Police Foundation trustee and Chairman and CEO of Carter, Bob Peterson, “We are proud to be a part of such an impactful project that will affect the youth and community members on Atlanta’s Westside.”
The At-Promise Youth and Community Center would not be possible without charitable donations from Chris M. Carlos, the Blank Foundation, Georgia Power, and GE. Thank you for your generous contributions and commitment to Atlanta’s Westside.
The Center will be open starting August 2017.
