The Atlanta industrial market consisted of 509.5 million square feet of warehouse and distribution space in 5,619 projects at year-end 2007. Of that inventory, 56.6 million square feet were vacant and available for sale or lease. 2007 net absorption for the Atlanta industrial market was 8.8 million, while overall vacancy was 11.1 percent and rental rates were $8.74/nnn at year-end 2007. There were an additional 4.9 million square feet of new industrial space under construction across the metro Atlanta market, and 9 million square feet of space were delivered in 2007.
