Choices are abundant through metro Atlanta’s institutions of higher learning. There are more than 30 accredited colleges and universities, and nine technical institutes in the area. Students in every metro county have the opportunity to pursue competitive degrees and professional certification. Metro Atlanta’s higher-education institutions enroll more than 130,000 students annually. These students comprise the basis for the educated work force that makes Atlanta so attractive to expanding businesses. Atlanta ranks sixth in the country for degrees conferred per 100,000 population and second among the top 10 metropolitan areas.
