With a primary focus on identifying, underwriting and due diligence for prospective investments, Matt provides comprehensive analysis on opportunistic real estate investments.

Matt joined Carter’s Investment team in 2012 with several years of experience in the investment industry. In his current role as Vice President, he is responsible for sourcing new investment opportunities, underwriting each perspective investment and structuring acquisition and joint venture terms. Matt also assists in the on-going asset management of Carter’s current investments. Matt is currently providing executive oversight for Carter’s most recent acquisition, 715 Peachtree, a 318,000 sf office building located in Midtown Atlanta.

Prior to joining Carter, Matt worked as an acquisitions specialist for Triangle Equities, a real estate development firm based in New York City. In this role, he focused on sourcing and underwriting prospective investments, as well as the project management of assets already established within their portfolio. During his tenure with Triangle, Matt provided underwriting for over $500 million real estate transactions; he was directly involved in the acquisition and management of non-performing loans and distressed assets.

Initially, Matt began his career at a family-owned investment firm with investment management and acquisition responsibilities. He also worked as an acquisitions officer at KPP Distressed Fund, where he focused on multi-family acquisitions.
