Jack works in a variety of roles for Carter’s equity development team, including, thorough front-end underwriting and market analysis for new opportunities, sourcing of equity and debt, development management, and asset management.
Jack has extensive experience in navigating the complexities of and creating value in large mixed-use developments. He joined Carter as a development intern in the summer of 2014, eventually carving out a permanent role within the firm later that fall. He has worked on The DeSota and Aston City Springs projects since his first week at the firm, and will continue to do so until successful completion and exit. These projects have given him the ability to see all facets of both a large public-private deal, and a more traditional private joint venture.
Prior to joining Carter, Jack attended Emory University’s Goizueta Business School for his MBA. While in school Jack worked as a research analyst for Granite Properties in Atlanta. He worked on market surveys and analysis of the Atlanta office market to assist with the pursuit and acquisition of multiple office properties. Jack was involved with the acquisition of over 600,000 SF of Class A office space in Atlanta during his time with Granite. Prior to graduate school, Jack worked in Private Wealth Management for Merrill Lynch and Credit Suisse.
Jack is a native Floridian and a proud graduate of the University of Florida, and loves to travel around the SEC to watch his Gators play. Jack and his wife reside in Brookhaven with their black lab Hank. They all enjoy hiking in the north Georgia mountains, and traveling to Florida to enjoy the beach and fishing on Mosquito Lagoon. Jack is an avid golfer and enjoys all sorts of outdoor activities on the weekends.
