As Director of Marketing for Carter, Cathryn Houchins oversees and executes the marketing strategies for Carter’s national portfolio including its projects in Atlanta’s Southside. She currently leads marketing for the Summerhill and MET projects, including executing brand and promotional strategies, event management, media and press direction, and more.
Prior to joining Carter, Cathryn lead marketing for brands including TNT and TBS networks at Turner (now WarnerMedia), Bumble and Bumble, an Estée Lauder company, and as an account director at Atlanta-based marketing agency, Tailfin. During her time at Tailfin, she managed the branding efforts for a forthcoming food hall at current Midtown renovation project.
Cathryn’s personal and professional experience positions her to effectively assist in Carter’s efforts to be part of reviving Atlanta’s Southside into a vibrant and connected community. She graduated from The University of Georgia’s Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication with a bachelor of arts degree in journalism. She also served as Media Program Director for the State YMCA of Georgia’s Youth Assembly, was a member of the Woodruff Arts Center’s Young Audiences inaugural Leadership Council program, and was an active member of Turner’s female leadership and mentoring program.
Originally from Moultrie, Georgia, Cathryn and her husband live in Loring Heights with their son and enjoy spending weekends at farmers markets, attending events like Streets Alive, and experiencing the city’s vibrant restaurant scene.
