Atlanta-based companies Carter and Selig Enterprises Inc. have closed on the purchase of 3.7 acres for the development of a commercial portion of City Springs, a master planned development in Sandy Springs,

Carter and Selig plan to begin construction this summer on residential and retails portions of the project, reports Northside Neighbor.

City Springs is a public-private partnership between Carter, Selig and the city of Sandy Springs.

In addition to the residential and retail components, the project will include city government offices, a performing arts center, meeting areas and greenspace.

The residential portion will include 275 flats and 19 townhomes. The retail component will include more than 30,000 square feet of street-level space, the paper adds.

Both the residential and retail components are expected to be completed by winter 2017, the paper reports.
