Corporate Citizenship

In the company’s 61-year history, Carter has dedicated a tremendous amount of time and resources to bettering both Atlanta and surrounding communities. Through our hands-on partnerships with residents, key stakeholders, and local organizations, Carter strives to foster communities of care in and around Atlanta.

Direct Impact: The Highlights

ATLANTA POLICE FOUNDATION
Carter is pleased to provide multiple levels of service to an organization tasked with crime reduction and prevention. From project managing APF’s flagship initiative of building At Promise Youth Centers for Atlanta’s youth to having Carter employees serve on the Atlanta Police Foundation’s Board, Carter looks forward to continuing this longstanding partnership for years to come.

YMCA OF METRO ATLANTA
Carter enjoys a close relationship with the YMCA of Metro Atlanta, which serves over 153,000 members. Carter involvement has included project management services for a new YMCA Leadership and Learning Center, along with assisting the organization in strategic growth planning across the region.

@PROMISE CENTER
The At-Promise Youth and Community Center is a state-of-the-art learning and community facility with specialized services for youth and a gathering place for residents, group activities and other purposes. Located in historic English Avenue, the At-Promise Center is an opportunity to participate in the revitalization efforts of this community. This center is the cornerstone of the Atlanta Police Foundation’s youth crime reduction initiative. This initiative enrolled 347 youth in its first year, providing specialized programming for youth and young adults ages 12 to 24 who reside on Atlanta’s Westside. The success of the first project has prompted the Police Foundation to start the planning phase with Carter on two more @Promise centers in the near future.

PARK PRIDE COMMUNITY BUILDING GRANT
Carter was proud to partner with the Organized Neighbors of Summerhill, Park Pride, and the City of Atlanta Parks and Recreation to make playground improvements to Phoenix II Park in Summerhill. Carter donated funds to the project and program managed the installation of the playground at no cost to the neighborhood. The playground officially opened to the public in June of 2018.

PARK PRIDE LEGACY GRANT
Carter is working with the Organized Neighbors of Summerhill to secure $100,000 worth of matching funds through the Atlanta Park Pride Legacy Grant. This award will allow improvements to Phoenix Park II and III along with Heritage Park.  The plan includes an amphitheater space as one of many amenities for Summerhill and surrounding neighbors to enjoy.
